Log into Portal > Cloud Services > Message Cloud Services.
This would take you to the window below:
This page enables you to search sent messages and match up them with your contacts.
The following fields will help your search to be more specific:
Search BY - Allows searching by “Submitted Date”, “Delivery Date” and “Last Status Update”.
Select Status – Allows searching by different statuses which include “Delivered”, “Not Delivered”, “Queued” and “Failed”.
Reason – Allows searching by a specific reason based on “Select Status”.
Select Direction – Allows searching by “Inbound” and “Outbound” messages.
Select Range, Date From & Start Time – Allows searching by specifying a range of date and time
Note - You can view up to 13 months of data in this section. Also, processing capabilities mean that new data will appear in this section after 5 minutes. Please note that search dates are inclusive.
After specifying the search criteria, clicking the “search” button would then display the results. These results could then be exported as an Excel sheet by clicking “Export” button on the top right corner of the window.
As an example, if you wish to delete contacts from failed messages, you would follow these steps:
Set "Select Status" to "Failed" and select the appropriate date and time.
Please note that while the messages are failed, most of the statuses are usually temporary for the handset in question and that a message send attempt in the future could still be delivered successfully. Therefore, from our perspective, we recommend only taking messages that are "Rejected" and "Refused" as permanent failures.
We advise creating a filter in the excel sheet on "Message Status". This could be done by selecting the "Message Status" column and selecting "Data" tab on the top of the sheet. Then, the filters could be applied by checking only those boxes (We recommend only "Rejected" and "Refused") in the "Message Status" column.
After applying the filters, delete all the columns except "MSISDN". Then, right click "MSISDN" column and click "Format Cells".
Choose "Number" in "Category" and change the decimal places to "0".
Now, create another column named "CustomField01" and name all the values corresponding to the mobile numbers as (e.g.) "Deletable".
Navigate to Message Manager > Import Contacts > Choose File.
Choose the modified exported sheet and upload it. Scroll down to the bottom of the window and select the "Map Contact field to" corresponding to the "Mobile" field in "Address Book Field" and set it to MSISDN. Similarly, choose the "Map Contact field to" corresponding to the "Custom Field" in "Address Book Field" and set it to "CustomField01" and click "Next".
Click "Import" to import the contacts.
Please be aware that in the event contacts are deleted from Message Manager, they cannot be restored once they are deleted. We therefore advise extreme caution and double checking the contacts you wish to delete.
Now, go to "Contacts" and delete the contacts with the "Deletable" value in their "Custom Field".
